Meet the Potters
In 2011 in the busy surf town of Santa Cruz, California, Bare Stone founder Lucy Alexander started taking pottery classes under George Dymesich. She began to hone her skills and passion for ceramic art. Eager to expand her time at the wheel, she successfully ran an Indiegogo crowd-funding campaign in 2012 which provided the capital to build a small initial home studio. Moving to Toronto, Canada in 2013 she continued to build her studio and product line, launching Bare Stone pottery in 2015. In 2016, she moved her studio back to California to focus on her pottery full time in the beautiful mountain town of Idyllwild. In October of 2016 Lucy returned to California, to focus on her pottery full time in the beautiful mountain town of Idyllwild, her place of birth. Here she met Terryann Halloran whom shares her passion for clay and creative art. Lucy teaches wheel throwing and hand building classes at Mountain Pottery and continues to make and sell her pottery under the name Bare Stone.
Terryann is an experienced and creative ceramic sculptor and enjoys a wide variety of hand-building techniques. She discovered her passion for clay at the age of 36 in an Adult Art Camp, where she took clay pit firing. Through this experience, she discovered healing of the heart and mind. She has been pursuing a life full of dancing and playing with clay ever since! In the fall of 2016, Terryann met Lucy in Idyllwild and instantly recognized a kindred sister with whom she could create art through clay. Six months later they opened their own studio, Mountain Pottery!
